Job Description:
The candidate will be involved in a variety of R&D projects. Extensive hands-on experience in working with human iPSCs is required. Experience in working with primary human cells (especially neural cells), developing complex functional assays, high content imaging, and implementing quantitative image analysis using commercial and open-source software is preferred. The applicant will be part of a fast-paced manufacture and R&D team. Good communication and people skills are required. Some of the specific techniques used include the following: animal surgery and dissection, primary cell isolation, cell/tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, cryosectioning, fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, RNA isolation and RT-PCR, protein extraction, Western blot, ELISA, as well as processing human blood and tissue samples.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a M.S. or Ph.D. in Biology or related science and minimum of 3 years of experience in stem cell biology and assay development. Strong technical background in neuroscience and electrophysiology is preferred. Experience with iPS cell growth and differentiation particularly in feeder-free conditions is required; history with iPSC-derived cell-based assay systems is preferred. Excellent multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently are required. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a highly-collaborative team environment.
